The correct diagnosis and treatment of diseases are one of the main goals of health sciences. Early diagnosis and treatment of diseases are extremely important in order for society to consist of healthy individuals. In this early diagnosis and treatment process, medical imaging methods provide very valuable data to physicians. With the discovery of X-rays by the German physicist Röntgen, the door to medical imaging methods has been opened, and new applications have been introduced in the field with research and development activities conducted over the past thirty years.
It is possible for medical imaging methods to reach their target efficiently with the presence of a well-trained team in the field. This team consists of radiology, nuclear medicine or radiotherapy specialist physicians and medical imaging technician or technicians at the core.
With the opening of the program; all radiodiagnostic modalities used by the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease (conventional and digital radiology, fluoroscopy, digital substraction angiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging), as well as nuclear medicine (spect, pet, petct) and radiotherapy (simulator, linear axelator, etc.) can use information and communication skills in accordance with the education they receive, technical equipment that can apply the developing technology on the field, have the ability to synthesize information, qualified technical staff who can coordinate with radiology specialists and other medical personnel who can use eye and hand coordination comfortably will be trained.
