Academic Advisor Handbook

Dear Lecturers,

1. Our paid-for-class hour (DSU) instructors are required to fill in the registration form and submit it to the Faculty Secretary with the required documents on the second page until the date specified by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

2. DSU (paid-for-class hour) lecturers must sign the lesson time form on the Secretary of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

3. DSU (paid-for-class hour) lecturers must visit https://obs.arel.edu.tr/ and follow the prompt to create a new password in order to log in to the Istanbul Arel University Student Information System.

4. When you log in to the Student Information system with your user name and password, you can see the list of courses assigned to you.

5. You can make syllabus about the courses you teach, enter student attendance status and grading through the Student Information System.

6. According to Istanbul Arel University Associate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations, there is a 70% attendance requirement for theoretical courses and 80% for practical courses. There is no attendance requirement for students who repeat the course for reasons other than absenteeism.

7. You can use it to take attendance of students by clicking the signature list from the course student list section under the courses you teach in the Student Information system. Afterwards, you need to process the attendance records in the Student Information System.

8. You can find the contents of your courses on the department web page. You can also find information about the assessment and evaluation methods and percentages about your course here. However, if you have any suggestions or revision requests regarding the profile of the course, content, course monitoring, assessment and evaluation methods, please contact our department chair.
