Department of General Surgery

General Surgery is a branch of science that deals with surgical diseases of the organs located in the abdominal cavity, breast and thyroid gland (goiter). In the education of the faculty of medicine, general surgery occupies a rather important place. Basic concepts of general surgery are taught to students in the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul Arel University Faculty of Medicine and their practical applications are given on mock-ups in the medical skills laboratory.

Our department was established under the structure of Surgical Medical Sciences in 2020, when our faculty started its education and training.Head of the Department is conducted by Köksal ÖNER.

General surgery clinics in Bahçelievler Memorial Hospital will be used for general surgery clinical applications.

As a department, our academic goals are to train physicians who comply with the ethical rules of the medical profession, research and question, and meet international standards.
