Establishment

Library and Documentation Office was founded in 2007 in Sefaköy Campus. When the central library entered into action in Kemal GÖZÜKARA Campus, it started serving in an area of 1.192 m². The library services in the Sefaköy Campus have been operating in a closed area of 620 m² under the name of Sefaköy Branch Library.

In order to maintain reading services for 7/24, reading rooms have been established in the campuses. Access to computers and internet services are available in the reading rooms. Upon the establishment of “Cevizlibağ Campus” in 2019, Cevizlibağ Branch Library was founded in an area of 923 m² in the academic year of 2019-2020. The libraries in all three campuses serve with a capacity of 850 readers on a total area of 3.141 m².

Our libraries serve their readers with a collection of 322.349 electronic books, 65.193 electronic journals and more than 65.000 printed books, with their information and communication technologies infrastructure. Readers can benefit from the library service by means of mobile applications and electronic library for 7/24.

In the spirit of helping the students gain a role in information society and raising a generation that investigates, produces and questions, “Study and Group Study Rooms” have been put in service so that readers can enjoy a comfortable studying place whilst providing them with the unlimited access to information via the computers and internet connection.

Our students are considered as natural members of our libraries and can barrow the books for a certain period of time as stated in the Library Directives.

Library and Documentation Office maintains education and teaching activities within the plans and programs for the purpose of providing the academic staff and students with the knowledge in the national and international areas with the support of modern information technologies.
