Faculty of Medicine

İstanbul Arel University was founded on May 18, 2007 by Kemal Gözükara Education and Culture Foundation according to the additional Article 76 of the Law No. 5656. Özgür GÖZÜKARA has been serving as the Chairperson of Board of Trustees of our University and Prof. Dr. A. Ercan GEGEZ has been serving as the Rector.

İstanbul Arel University started its works on establishing a Faculty of Medicine in 2012 and at the University’s senate meeting dated March 6, 2012 and numbered 20.12-04, and a decision was made that the foundation of the Faculty of Medicine was deemed appropriate and presented to the Board of Trustees.

In the meeting dated March 6, 2012 and numbered 20.12-02 under the presidency of Kemal GÖZÜKARA, the decision of the Senate regarding the foundation of the Faculty of Medicine was deemed appropriate by the Board of Trustees and submitted to the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education for approval.

On March 14, 2016 the foundation of İstanbul Arel University Faculty of Medicine was decided by the Council of Ministers according to the additional Article 30 of the Law No. 2809 dated March 28, 1983 on the proposal of the Ministry of Education, and was published in Official Gazette No. 2016-8700.

Prof. Dr. Enver DURAN was assigned on April 22, 2016 as the Founding Dean of İstanbul Arel University Faculty of Medicine that operates in cooperation with Bahçelievler Memorial Hospital. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Cem UZAL was appointed to the Dean’s Office of İstanbul Arel University Faculty of Medicine on April 28, 2021 and has been serving as Dean. İstanbul Arel University Faculty of Medicine welcomed the first students in the academic year of 2020-2021.
