The Food Preparation Laboratory was established for the purpose of making practices for other vocational courses, especially basic courses of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics such as Nutrition Principles, Introduction to Nutrition and Dietetics.

 

In this laboratory, where the topics theoretically described in the professional courses of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics are put into practice, there are a total of 12 household stoves, 2 ovens and various kitchen equipment on 3 units. It is aimed to transform the principles of healthy food preparation, cooking and storage into practice by considering food hygiene and to make the students’ knowledge more permanent in this way. By observing all the physical, chemical and sensory changes that occur during food preparation, the purpose of the applications, the effects of the materials used on health in terms of structure, appearance and nutritional element are discussed.
