Mission & Vision

ACADEMIC

VOCATIONAL SCHOOL

Mission

In today’s globalized world and within the framework of our country’s European Union membership process, mastering at least one foreign language—both in written and oral communication—has become a necessity. Additionally, the demand for competent translators in both written and oral contexts is increasing every day. Our mission is to train professionals who can fill this gap by acquiring the necessary skills to perform at a high level in the field of translation.

Our goal is to establish a research-oriented, innovative, and contemporary educational culture that is equipped with scientific and technological infrastructure and produces qualified knowledge. We aim to educate professionals who are competent in their field and respectful of universal values. Furthermore, graduates of our department are trained to communicate effectively in both written and spoken forms in any field requiring foreign language proficiency.

Vision

After completing a mandatory English preparatory program, students develop their translation skills over two years by learning and applying essential theories, approaches, and methods required for various types of translation (written translation, consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, news translation, etc.) in different professional fields such as economics, politics, social sciences, engineering, commerce, and technical areas.

Our vision is to become a leading vocational school that prioritizes science and technology in professional education, conducts studies aimed at solving social issues, fosters university-industry-society collaboration, and adopts total quality management principles for continuous improvement. By offering education aligned with global industry developments, we aim to train a qualified workforce that can easily find employment in both the private and public sectors.

Additionally, we strive to establish a strong presence in the field of social sciences through the success of our graduates and to contribute to societal well-being by embracing corporate social responsibility. To support translation-based courses, additional activities are conducted to enhance students’ reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills. This approach ensures that students become proficient in translating from English to Turkish and vice versa while also preparing them to work in various sectors requiring foreign language expertise.
