The Journalism Department of Istanbul Arel University, with its experienced academic staff, provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge and trains graduates who meet the requirements of the times. In the courses, students first learn theoretical knowledge and then reinforce it by applying what they have learned through practical work. In this context, the Arel Haberci magazine is published by the Journalism Department, the magazine which the students can publish their content in various genres such as news, interviews, opinion pieces, and film reviews.
In addition to the practical assignments given in the courses, students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the Arel Media Center within the university, allowing them to engage directly with the field. In this way, at the Arel Media Center, students can gain experience at their own university before entering the industry. Additionally, through the mandatory internship program in the department, Journalism students have the opportunity to get to know the industry and find job opportunities before graduating. With their graduation projects in the final year, students can gain competence in both academic and industry contexts.
In addition, our department’s students have awards from various categories in journalism competitions.
